For 8 months I had been fighting exhaustively to remove a negative ad, that was posted on the first page of Google. This negative posting cause my business profit to go down %30. I'm fairly new to the world of photography filters, but of the 10 that I have experimented with, this one is my favorite. Without a doubt, I see improvement in the overall colors of the pictures I have taken. It enhances skin tones but also helps enhance colors in the surrounding area too. Definately a good buy in my opinion!

It warms up the color but I wouldn't use it solely for everything. I wouldn't recommend to use it in portrait. The filter pink-like color. So, it pop ups anything in range of this spectra, means: the red tone will be added to your face. A combination of 812 filter with UV Sigma filter reduces this effect and, actually, makes skin color look more natural, I'd compare that combination with Cokin 81C filter. The Tiffen 812 transparency is about half stop, what adds a bit contrast to your pictures. The filter (62mm) well made and did not give a vignetting at 18mm focal length (with Sigma 18-200mm lens) even with UV Sigma filter on. The filter has internal thread which allows to put on another 62mm filter.
All in all, the 812 warming filter enhances pictures, it did make my pictures soft, the price is right, in my opinion - worth to buy.

I have Tiffen 812s in several sizes. They are a slightly different color than the 81 series warm ups and anything else I've seen. The 812 offers a special warmth that no other can offer. Sometimes I even use it with my digital SLR because the white balance settings don't quite equal the color of these. I'm not one to keep a filter on the lens all the time to protect it. Generic screw in rubber lens hoods offer protection to some degree(that's what I use all the time). The only time I put a filter on is to improve images. And the 812 does improve landscapes and portraits on a cloudy or overcast day when the light tends to be bluish. You can further enhance the warmth on a sunny day also. If you're on a tight budget like me, these inexpensive Tiffens do the job well. I haven't noticed any degrade in image quality. And using a lens hood all the time, I haven't had a problem with flare while using the filter that I wouldn't have without it on the lens.

Driving my bookshelf speakers, my 5066 sounded just great for the money (for any money really), though it lacked tone and balance controls, looked awful and had cheezy interconnect terminals. I speak in the past tense about it because while re-arranging the multitudes of equipment on my workbench, I managed to plug the wrong AC adapter into the poor thing. Poof, my little 5066 became a thing of the past. I then bought the Super-T amp which performs like the orignal T-amp and also lacks tone and balance controls, but the Super-T has a nice looking metal case and better quality interconnects. I recommend the Super-T over the 5066 if only for aesthetic reasons, assuming you can afford the extra $'s. Otherwise, if you are on a tight budget, get the 5066. Either way, you won't be sorry.

Sonic Impact 5066 15-Watt Portable Class-T Digital Audio Amplifier Review by Andrew West (Bridgewater, NJ United States)

I bought this to make use of some extra speakers and cd players I had in my study room, and this amp was the missing link. As long as I don't want to play music particularly loud, this amp does the job fine. It can drive real bookshelf speakers that are at least moderately efficient. It isn't hissy or distorted at low levels. It sounds best to turn up the input signal strength (e.g. CD input) and use the first third of the amp's volume control. I have not used the amp to play my big $1,000 + speakers, but using this amp with a decent input and real speakers sound much better than a boombox or low-end "mini-systems". The speakers I'm using are some discontinued Radio Shack (RCA) speakers with kevlar woofers and Linnaeum tweeter, bought at 2 for $100. Pair the amp up with some real (list price >$100) speakers and this amp will play music decently in a small room.

At a price of $40, this is a great, handy little item. It does not sound bad at moderate volumes, which is all you can really ask for. At about 10 good quality watts, higher efficiency speakers would be better, e.g. I'd expect Klipsch to be a good fit. FYI, this is an integrated amp, meaning it has a volume control. There is one input for a minijack, (like portables typically use) but for a few dollars you can buy an rca to minijack converter cable to hook up a full size- CD or DVD player to it.

The Sonic Impact T-Amp is good, it works and sounds great (i've got it hooked to a pair of JBL E10 speakers and my slimdevices SqueezeBox).

However it is lacking one major thing:

It does not include the AC power adaptor brick that anyone sane will need. As if I'm going to use 8 AA batteries for an amp. Ordering the 12V transformer from sonic impact costs as much as the amp itself. Are most people seriously buying this thing for portable use?

I had to do a few runs of Cat6 through my attic into 3 rooms in my home. This really helped a lot. Sure you could make your own or use a different kind of device (originally I used a wire hanger), but this did the job better. I was up in the attic and my wife was at the receiving end using the magnet to attach the nickel-plated steel ball chain. You might have issues if the wall you're working on is insulated or if you have horizontal studs/fire-stops. It was perfect for what I needed.

I needed to run an additional coaxial cable for OTA from my kitchen to the basement. I already had one coax at this location but passing the 2nd one from the top hole in the kitchen to the bottom hole in the basement (or vice versa) was not as easy as I had hoped...just couldn't access both ends of the cable so I decided to order the Wet Noodle & Retriever for $20...this turned out to be an excellent decision!

I placed the ball-chain into the hole in the wall behind the TV in the kitchen, went down to the basement, inserted the retriever in the hole and wiggled it around a bit but then decided to take it back out to reshape it and low and behold, it already had the chain attached to it! This literally took me about 3 minutes, I couldn't believe it! If I seem a little excited it's because I just did this last night and I still can't believe how well it worked!

I then attached a string to the chain in the basement, went back upstairs and pulled the chain out with the string attached, then went back downstairs and taped the coaxial cable to the string...then back upstairs one more time and pulled the string with the cable in tow....done! Best $20 I've spent in a long time!

I know some of you might be saying that since I already had a cable passing from top to bottom I could have used the cable itself as a puller for another cable but I did not want to take the chance of losing that cable (which feeds my DirecTV DVR) in the wall...that would have just compounded my problem.

This outlet strip has to go down to the "why the heck didn't somebody make one of these before" category. The strip is simple and effective. The old solution was to space the outlets farther apart to accommodate wall warts.

This is sort of your normal every day outlet strip with six outlets. There is a nice white on off button beside the power cord. When turned on, the area around the button glows blue. The electrical cord is about six feet long and heavy duty. The electrical plug is one of those round flat plugs that is canted about 45 degrees, so when plugged in the wall the wire is on an angle pointing up the wall (no idea why the heck they do that, its annoying). The whole thing has a good heft to it. That's the normal every day part.

The cool part, this thing swivels. Each outlet has a rotator around it. There's one good thing, you can circle the wagons and have it wrap around a table leg. But that's not really the reason for the rotating (I've never needed to wrap my outlet strip around a table leg). The reason for the rotator is wall warts, those nasty AC adapters that take up two or three outlets on a power strip. With this little strip, it is possible to plug in six multi-outlet eating wall warts. Simply plug one wall wart in, and twist until it is out of the way of the adjacent outlet. Keep doing that for all the wall warts.

There is a limit for some wall warts. There are those big honking ones that actually take up three outlets, those really wide ones. Those can be twisted to only cover two outlets. Still not a bad deal.

The construction is decent. The plastic appears to be sturdy. 670 Joule surge protection is not massive, but still not bad. It does not have a UL approval. There is an ETL certification that apparently tests products to the UL standards. The product is stamped with 15A 110V AC capacity.

Overall, a good product that solves the problem of what to do with a zillion wall warts.

Quirky is a sort of social networking product development company. I found this outlet strip through an article in Engadget over a year ago. I preordered the outlet then, figuring it would arrive soon (the Quirky site said it was already going to the production phase). Well it took almost a year for them to ship these. I own three of them. I like the design and the functionality. If you like to watch products go from a rough idea sketch to a real live shipping product and want to influence that development, Quirky is a fun place. I have absolutely no financial interest in Quirky, nor do I work there. It's simply an interesting social networking experiment.

This case was bought for an HTC Evo Shift 4G phone. There are very few cases for the phone to start with. I decided to buy this case because of the other good ratings and reviews for it on here and other online stores. It comes with two different belt attachments, both of which work very well in keeping it on my waist. The phone fits perfectly in the adjustable case so much so you would think it were specifically designed for it. The magnetic closure doesn't seem to cause any interference with any functioning of the phone and is surprisingly strong for a phone case. All I have to say is: wow. I've purchased some random cheap "uses air to increase pressure" showerheads before, and always found them to be barely noticeable at best, but this is an entirely different beast. The pressure is so strong I can't even leave it on the 2.5 GPM setting for very long, and the 1.85 GPM setting is more than enough to get the job done. Even if you aren't trying to save water, this turns an otherwise poor shower into a great one.

I'm consistantly amazed at what Canon can pack into such a small package. I took a Canon Elph Jr. with me to Rome in the fall of 1999, and the pictures came out beautifully. The Elph 2 has the 2x zoom feature, but otherwise it's very similar. The APS photosystem is easy to use, and the index prints and negatives that stay in the canister are great for those of us who aren't terribly organized. All the canisters stay in a book-sized holder with the index prints. As a result, I give far more photo gifts than I used to, because I always know where the negatives are when I need to order reprints. I was particularly struck by the clarity of the photos, the richness of the colours, and the ease of use of the camera. While the 24mm APS format is smaller than the 35mm standard film, the resolution is still excellent. Far better than any digital camera under $1000. One of the most useful characteristics is the tiny size. Because it fits anywhere, I take it with me in my napsack and shoot photos of anything I find interesting. If you purchase a $100 flatbed scanner to scan photos for your web page, or to send via email, these Elphs offer a far better bargain than any digital camera or film camera available today.

This puppy is a piece of art + machine all in one. The miniature size and high quality production materials make this product a thing to put on a pedestal. But what do you care if it doesn't perform? Well it does just great in all sorts of light conditions. I've taken it to Washington State where the sun don't shine too brightly with Fuji 200ASA - great panoramic shots with good color. After 6 months with this camera - I haven't used my 35mm Olympus. However, those of you who are really into detail will find the Advanced film quality slightly unacceptable.

The controls are just fabulous - the best is the zoom lever - immediate zoom speed without a lot of time lapse. The actual zoom ratio isn't that great but you have to give up something for its size. It's got all the standard red-eye, fill-in, timer functions, plus a bunch of nifty time-date-stamp buttons. The back display gives you all the info in logical layout.

The only thing you need to watch out for is the standard 2-step focus and shoot process. Because this gem is so small, it's easy to move the camera while trying to get a good shot. And if you're thinking about the Elph 1 versus Elph 2 - I've seen 2 of the Elph 1's in the camera shop with its flash stuck in the up mode.

I've loved my Elf 1 for about 3 years now and just bought the Elf 2 for my parents (although they may get my old one -- they don't know that yet!). After having spent some time with it, I like the new one a bit better because of the neat new features: 1 -- you can change film midroll which is neat if you want to shoot different film for different conditions 2 -- If you know you just took a great shot, you can specify how many prints you want made up to 9! I wish mine had that feature. You can also use it for the following shot, but that's it. 3 -- the flash doesn't stick up any more so it can't get stuck 4 -- it has a new zoom device which works better and is more convenient. Plus, it takes the same great pictures in 3 modes that the old Elf did. I agree that Panormanic shoots of far off mountains are better with an SLR, but almost every other kind of shot looks just fine with the Elf. It's amazing how camera quality this good can be had for such a price. For proud parents -- the best part of the Elf is that it's TINY and you can keep it in your purse. I've taken zillions of rolls whereas with my older bigger camera, I never took it with me. You don't have to give up much to get this great quality. Wait no more!

so far so good, i have used these gloves daily and there is no sign of aging yet. They fit well, but next i will order a size up. they offer protection but you are still able to feel with these gloves on.

I bought these gloves to use for winter driving when I get off work and my car is freezing. The steering wheel always feels like ice and some gloves are rather slippery. I thought these would work well to keep my hands somewhat warm and give a better grip on the wheel. I like the look and feel of the leather but I was very disappointed to find the gloves are way too small for my hands. I have very normal and I would say smaller than normal hands compared to guys who work outside or use their hands heavily all day. So I opted for the Medium size. I would say you would either have to be a small woman and a very small man to wear these gloves. I gave mine to my wife and even she can't wear them comfortably. I guess I will hang on to them until I find someone with very small hands. I did not return them or order the large so I have no comparison info to pass along in that regard.

Having owned and seen many digital cameras, this is probably one of the best out there for the price. While the feature set isn't as rich as the Nikon 950 and the largest images are a bit smaller in pixel size, the CCD responds excellently. The low-light response is the BEST I have seen in a digital camera.

Olympus quality lens. Excellent flash photos. Excellent sunlight photos. Fair low light photos. If there's a way to get an extended warranty on this camera, get it. The cover will not hold up if you use this camera heavily. (I take 400-500 pictures a day with it, and open the lens cover 20-30 times a day) I use the camera commercially, and it was the best choice after weeks of research. The LCD display is very expensive to repair, so if you don't have an extended warranty, be careful with the display. With a tripod and the supplied cables, you can set up some creative photo ideas. Use your imagination and you will become an Olympus fan.
